Today was Olivia's appt with the ENT at Nemours. It went well. As of today's visit she is not getting tubes in her ears just yet. She currently doesn't have an ear infection and Dr. Roy wanted to see a longer history of infections before he did the surgery. I don't think he got of the information he needed because the audiologist wasn't there and they couldn't do a hearing test. His instructions were to give her some nasal sprays to help dry her up and maybe that would help. He likes to see at least of 6 months of ear infections prior to tubes and its only been since Nov that we have been dealing with them. We have another appt in 6 weeks to see what happens. We will continue to give her the preventive meds for a few more days and then stop to see what happens. He said that even though she is getting nasal sprays she may get ear infections and he knows it will be miserable but to get an accurate assessment of what she needs we must do this. After all he is the Dr and he knows more then we do about this. So we'll have to deal with a cranky child for a while if she gets sick again. He doesn't want to do unnecessary surgery on a baby. We'll keep you posted on what happens during the next 6 weeks. Now I'm going to enjoy the rest of my day off from work.
