Just Call Me...Mom of the Year

Today Olivia had her first major boo boo and it scared the crap out of me, to be blunt. We decided to start putting up Christmas lights today and Olivia wanted to help, like always. She climbed up the ladder behind Daddy. She's climbed a ladder a thousand times with no trouble(it makes me so nervous) but today her daredevil ways caught up with her. The second time she followed Paul up the really tall ladder she fell off while climbing back down to me. Talk about FREAKING out, that would be an understatement. I'm not kidding when I say it took less then a second for her to turn around say Mommy and hit the ground. She fell about 6 feet. I grabbed her so fast and saw blood, I started crying, she was crying, and well Paul was calm(like always during a crisis). After calling all the grandparents for help and the doctors office we ended up at the doctors house. Yep, you read that right Dr. Sabban didn't want us to have to wait in the ER to find out she was ok so she told us where she lives and had us come to her house, how awesome is that. She checked Olivia over and assured us that she was ok just a little bruised and swollen. She has a fat lip, a very swollen nose, and scratches on her face. Here are a few shots taken today after the fall. You can't see it real clear but believe me her cute little nose is quite swollen. She's not so happy to have the camera shoved in her face. See the scratches to the left of her nose, I think she may have it a tree root.

Yesterday helping Daddy check the lights. As you can see there are no scratches or bruises and no ladders around to fall off of.

We have more yard art and Christmas lights then should be legal, believe me. A few years ago Paul bought some 2 deer for out yard. Last year when Olivia joined the family he felt it necessary to buy her a little baby deer for the yard. We pulled it out the other day and showed it to her. Her response was *aaawww*. She has been loving this deer ever since. Here she is giving it a little smooch. How stinkin cute is this?!?!?!

Olivia is not only a daredevil she's pretty clever too. Not wanting to hold her cup yesterday and being about 10 feet from the table she stuck it in the deers belly for safe keeping. My kid cracks me up:)

Oh So Thankful

Today is Thanksgiving and I had a chance to reflect on all of the things I'm thankful for. I'm so thankful to be healthy and be able to live everyday to the fullest. I'm thankful to have a beautiful healthy daughter that I love more then I can put into words. I have a husband who understands me and loves me unconditionally, even when I get a little crabby. I'm thankful to have my mom and the relationship we have, many mothers and daughters don't have that. Thankful for Paul's hardwork to provide for us, even when times got tough he never gave up.

Here are a few snapshots of today...I'm so thankful that I have been giving this wonderful child who is happy, healthy, and grwoing in leaps and bounds everday.

I just thought this was cute...Olivia and Colby playing at dinner. She certainly didn't want to share her Mommy with him. Everytime he would sit with me she would try to pull him out of my lab and say *push* trying to push him out of the way. She even sat on him...what can I say she loves me:)

Fell Off The Blog Wagon

I've somewhat fallen off the blog wagon recently. I'm going to blame it on my hectic schedule and busy life, because really it's the truth. Don't worry we're still here and having a GREAT time with my little sponge Olivia. I've taken a ton of pictures I need to go through and share. I'll be doing that this weekend, I hope. I've also got some funny stories to share...however it's too late tonight and I'm sleepy so you'll have to wait for the weekend.

We've Upgraded

About this time last year I got the itch to get a new camera. So for an early Christmas present Paul took me to Best Buy and bought me a Canon PowerShot, which I loved---at the time. After Olivia got a little more mobile, quick, and we started doing more active things as a family my new camera started getting on my nerves. I often missed the smile because it was slow the whole reason I upgraded from my Kodak. Now I did love the picture quality of the canon but deep down I really wanted a Rebel. At the time I couldn't spend that kind of money on a camera but I should have cause here I am a year later the proud owner of a Canon Rebel. I absolutely LOVE my new camera. I have been taking pictures since I got it. I also got this great package deal when I bought the camera-it came with an extra lens and a really big camera bag. The best part of this new camera is that Paul will actually use it, the last camera Paul used probably one time. This one on the other hand Paul has been using quite often in the 2 days we've had it. He actually took all of the pictures below. Here are my debut shots with my new Rebel, many more to come...

Olivia's getting so big and wants to help with everything Paul and I do. Tonight she helped me make corn casserole for dinner. When I say help I really mean she took part in the adding the ingredients, mixing, and throwing the trash away. She was so excited to help she couldn't stop smiling:)

Next up we're going to bake some cookies, we've got to get ready to make some for Santa:)

Trick or Treat

Last night was Halloween and I must say we had a great time taking Olivia trick or treating. This wasn't her first Halloween but we sure did go all out like it was. We didn't do much last year since Olivia was so young, so I guess we were making up for last year. I wasn't impressed with many of the store bought costumes, they were expensive and not very well made. We decied that since Olivia's favorite candy was M&M's we would dress her up as one. For those of you who don't know we choose green since the green m&m is a girl, I didnt' know everyone didn't know that. Mom has a crafty side so Iasked her to make Olivia's costume, didn't she do a great job. I think she'll be making Olivia costumes for many years to come...

We headed over to mom's neighborhood for some trick or treat fun.

She wanted to help Poppy give out candy when we got done trick or treating...she was sure to give the other kids andy but she also had to check out what they had in their bags.

We had a great time taking Olivia trick or treating this year. She was the cutest M&M ever, don't you think?
